Signature Details
David W. Kendall (1851-1910) whose homestead was on the north end of Grand Rapids, was an early supporter of Alten. Kendall's wife founded the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids (Now owned by Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI) after Kendall's untimely death in Mexico. Alten painted, Entrance to the Old Kendall Estate (MIAR224) 12 1/4 x 9 3/4, an oil on composition board, circa 1908 (owned by the Kendall College of Art and Design).
